8:00 – 8:45 AM: Your adventure begins with a convenient hotel pick-up in the Phong Nha area. This relaxed morning window ensures that you’re well rested and ready for the physical challenges and exciting experiences ahead.

9:00 AM: You’ll arrive at the tour operations center, where the team will give you a warm welcome and conduct a detailed safety briefing. You’ll be introduced to the day’s itinerary, learn about essential trekking techniques, and get familiar with the equipment you’ll use. This is also the time to make final preparations – adjusting your gear, filling water bottles, and checking in with your guide.

9:30 AM: Time to start your trek. After some light warm-up exercises, the group embarks on a 2-kilometer hike into the Abandoned Valley, weaving through a mix of dense jungle and rugged karst terrain. The path is surrounded by towering trees, birdsong, and the scent of the forest – a deep immersion into the natural world.

11:00 AM: After a solid hike, you’ll take a short rest stop and snack break, rehydrating and refueling for the next phase of the journey. This is a good time to absorb your surroundings and maybe capture some early photos of the landscape.

11:30 AM – 1:00 PM: Explore the 600-meter-long Golden Cave, named for its surreal “golden” stalactites that shimmer under headlamp light. Inside, you’ll witness dry stalactite systems, rare formations known as “cave pearls” (often referred to as the “Galaxy” due to their clustered, cosmic look), and intricate textures shaped over thousands of years. Unlike the more popular caves of the park, Golden Cave is quiet and untouched – a hidden gem that feels like your own personal discovery.

1:15 PM: After exiting Golden Cave, enjoy a well-earned jungle lunch, served picnic-style beneath the forest canopy. This is a highlight in itself – surrounded by nature, enjoying authentic Vietnamese food, and getting to know your fellow trekkers.

1:45 PM: Energized and recharged, you’ll continue the journey to E Cave, one of the most spectacular water caves in Quang Binh. Stretching over 1.2 to 1.5 kilometers, this cave features striking turquoise water that invites you to dive right in. You’ll swim through crystal-clear pools, surrounded by towering rock walls and peaceful cave acoustics that make the whole experience feel meditative and refreshing.

2:15 PM: The fun ramps up with a range of outdoor activities in and around E Cave. You’ll get to try:

• Stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) on calm cave water

• Snorkeling to see underwater formations and fish

• Water polo and swimming for those who want to stay active

• Sunbathing and relaxing with water-friendly squirt guns, offering a lighthearted, playful end to a more rugged trek

These activities allow you to unwind, laugh, and enjoy the cave not only as a geological marvel but as a natural playground.

3:30 – 5:00 PM: After a full day of exploration, you’ll begin the 2.5-kilometer return trek to the starting point. The trail back offers a different perspective on the jungle, often bathed in afternoon light, and feels especially rewarding after all you’ve experienced.

5:30 PM: Arrival back at the starting point, where your transportation will take you back to your hotel. Whether you’re staying in the Phong Nha area or continuing your journey elsewhere, you’ll leave the Abandoned Valley with a deep sense of connection to Vietnam’s wild interior – and some unforgettable stories to tell.

To ensure comfort and safety during your Abandoned Valley trekking experience, please bring the following:

Light, quick-drying clothing:

• One set of trekking clothes (long sleeves recommended to avoid insect bites)
• One set of swimwear
• One set of spare clothes for changing after the tour

Durable hiking footwear:

• Military-style jungle boots or sandals with grip (avoid waterproof shoes; they drain poorly)
• Long, thick socks (avoid low-cut types)

Backpack for personal items, including:

• Mosquito repellent

• Sunglasses and sunblock

• Hat or cap

• Camera

• Swimwear and towel

• Toiletries and change of clothes

Cancellation policy:

– Please make full payment before at least 03 days to confirm the booking
– Full refund if cancellation is received 2 days before departure.
– No refund if cancellation is received 14 hours before departure
– Possibility of amending tours 2 days before departure if available or change the departure date without extra costs.
– Cancellation is only confirmed by email or WhatsApp.

– Phongnha Discovery will not give any refund if the customers want to return during the tours.
– For safety, our tour guide has the right to change the itinerary.
– If the tour has to be cancelled due to bad weather, we will inform customers as soon as possible with alternative options:
