Abandoned Valley Trekking 1 Day

8:00 – 8:45 AM: Begin your day with a hotel pick-up in the Phong Nha area. Our team will greet you with smiles, help you prepare, and ensure you’re equipped for the adventure ahead.

9:00 AM: Arrive at the operations center, where we’ll go over the day’s itinerary in detail. Our experienced guides will give a full safety briefing, help you adjust your gear, and explain basic trekking and caving skills to ensure a safe and enjoyable journey.

9:30 AM: After a short warm-up, the trek begins. You’ll hike 2 kilometers into the Abandoned Valley, following narrow jungle paths and rocky slopes. This part of the trek gives you a real taste of wilderness – surrounded by towering trees, birdsong, and the natural sounds of an untouched forest. Your guide will point out interesting flora, fauna, and local stories along the way.

11:00 AM: Take a short rest and enjoy a light snack. This break offers a chance to catch your breath, hydrate, and soak in the beauty of your surroundings before entering the first cave.

11:30 AM – 1:00 PM: Prepare to be amazed as we enter Golden Cave, a 600-meter-long cave hidden in the depths of the Abandoned Valley. This cave is known for its:

• Unique golden-hued stalactites and stalagmites
• Rare cave pearls, dubbed the “Galaxy” due to their star-like clusters
• Stillness and serenity untouched by tourist crowds

Guided only by headlamp and the sound of your own footsteps, this cave offers a surreal, almost spiritual atmosphere. Our guides will share fascinating facts about the cave’s geology, mineral content, and formation history.

1:15 PM: After exploring Golden Cave, we’ll return to the jungle where a delicious Vietnamese lunch is served picnic-style in the shade. Sit back, relax, and recharge surrounded by the peaceful forest.

1:45 PM: After lunch, prepare for the aquatic highlight of the day – E Cave. This spectacular water cave spans 1.2 to 1.5 kilometers and features clear turquoise waters, cool cave air, and unforgettable swimming opportunities. Here, you’ll:

• Swim inside E Cave with life jackets and waterproof lights
• Admire the incredible rock formations beneath and above the water
• Float through winding underground sections with peaceful silence all around

2:15 PM: Time for some fun! We’ll enjoy a series of outdoor activities right inside and around E Cave. You can try:

• Stand-Up Paddleboarding (SUP) in calm cave pools
• Snorkeling in crystal-clear water
• Water polo, floating, and sunbathing
• Playful water games with squirt guns for light-hearted moments

These activities help balance the trek’s intensity with pure joy and laughter, and are suitable for all skill levels.

3:30 – 5:00 PM: Begin the 2.5-kilometer return trek through the jungle. Although it’s the way back, it’s far from repetitive – golden sunlight now filters through the trees, and you’ll likely notice details you missed earlier. This is the perfect time for group bonding, reflection, and final photos.

5:30 PM: Return to the starting point and transfer back to your hotel. Tired but fulfilled, you’ll end the day with unforgettable memories of your trek through the magical Abandoned Valley.

To ensure a safe and comfortable trip through Abandoned Valley, please prepare:

Light, quick-drying clothing

• 1 set of trekking clothes (long sleeves recommended)
• 1 set of swimwear
• 1 spare set of clothes to change into after the tour

Footwear

• A pair of high-quality hiking boots or sandals suitable for jungle and rocky terrain
• Avoid waterproof shoes – they do not drain well
• 1 pair of long, thick socks (avoid low-cut styles)

Backpack with personal items:

• Mosquito repellent
• Sunglasses & hat
• Sunscreen
• Towel, camera, toiletries
• Waterproof bag for swimwear & electronics

Cancellation policy:

– Please make full payment before at least 03 days to confirm the booking
– Full refund if cancellation is received 2 days before departure.
– No refund if cancellation is received 14 hours before departure
– Possibility of amending tours 2 days before departure if available or change the departure date without extra costs.
– Cancellation is only confirmed by email or WhatsApp.

Policies for all tours:

– Phongnha Discovery will not give any refund if the customers want to return during the tours.
– For safety, our tour guide has the right to change the itinerary.
– If the tour has to be cancelled due to bad weather, we will inform customers as soon as possible with alternative options:

+ We can change the departure date without extra fee
